If you are interested in creating an Industrial Automation Program/Pathway, you must attend the “Automating Success: Your Toolkit to Create an Industrial Automation Guided Pathway” conference.
Purpose of the Conference:
- Accelerate the creation of Industrial Automation Guided Pathways across California Community Colleges and the State to build a Strong Advanced Manufacturing Workforce.
- Invaluable gift of curriculum for attendees from the faculty of Bakersfield College
- Curriculum for the lower division courses of the Bachelors of Science, Industrial Automation offered by Bakersfield College will be provided for all attendees
Curriculum Deep Dives:
- Opportunity to attend breakout sessions lead by Bakersfield College to provide a deeper understanding of the curriculum
Note: Great opportunity for High Schools to develop pathways (K-12 Strong Workforce) by working with their local Community Colleges and provide students option to transfer to the Bachelors of Science in Industrial Automation.
The conference idea was inspired by the results produced the Strong Workforce Regional Project: Bachelors of Science Industrial Automation Collaborative. The project resulted in the creation of pathways from eight Central Valley Community Colleges to the Bachelors of Science, Industrial Automation, Bakersfield College. Close to 50 articulation agreements were developed by the faculty in one meeting. Many more Community Colleges are in process of developing new programs to meet their local workforce needs of highly skilled Industrial Automation Technicians/Mechanics.
As stated above the purpose of the conference is to accelerate the creation of Industrial Automation Guided Pathways across California Community Colleges and the State to build a Strong Advanced Manufacturing Workforce. It is highly advisable for Community Colleges to invite their feeder high school colleagues and come as a team to explore the idea of submitting the application for K-12 Strong Workforce Program.
