California Mayors Cyber Cup (CMCC) - Registration OPEN NOW and TEAM Practice February 4 -10 for the South Central Coast Region (SCCRC)
The California Mayors Cyber Cup are regional competitions across California where cyber teams compete for their city to bring home the coveted perpetual trophy. Cyber competitions are activities that bring cybersecurity awareness to communities and build strong and ethical character in the students who participate. This, in turn, helps build a future cyber workforce for all cities in California.
The onsite host location for the SCCRC region is Moorpark College this year. It would be wonderful to have all SCCRC teams to come together onsite - we can discuss transportation needs. Any community college within the region that have students in clubs or classes that would like to serve as mentors - please let Paula Hodge know.
ALL COLLEGES ARE INVITED to bring material regarding their colleges cyber education (credit, noncredit, and workforce development) to share with students, businesses, and legislatures.
Registration is open for middle and high school students who would like to participate in the CMCC.
All teams must be registered by February 2nd to receive their credentials for accessing the cyber range for practice. The challenge is on February 23, 2019.
The open practice window will give teams the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the game and the cyber range. This is very important for new teams, so be sure to get them registered by Feb 2 and have them plan a team practice. They will also be able to practice on their own but the team aspect is a key ingredient to the success of cyber competitions.
In January, we will post training materials. This is a great opportunity for our students and communities, bringing cybersecurity education and awareness throughout the region and state!
