SUMMARY:Regional Forum: Improving Indoor Air Quality Through Better Buildings
DESCRIPTION:With threats to indoor air quality from wildfires\, viruses\, and greenhouse gas emissions\, the demand for health-focused building retrofits is greater than ever before. Energy efficiency can act as a tool to decrease indoor air pollution related to combustion\, leaky windows\, and poor ventilation. During this event\, attendees will hear from public health and energy experts about harnessing the nexus between healthy indoor air quality and building better buildings. 3C-REN will provide an overview of energy code requirements\, access to funding\, and resources\, and opportunities for training for building professionals. Forum attendees will also hear about health-focused indoor air quality in practice\, highlighting how local projects in the tri-county region have minimized the effects of poor indoor air quality. \nRegister HERE

SUMMARY:What Energy Consultants Need to Know About HERS Features
DESCRIPTION:This class will cover the various Home Energy Rating Savings (HERS) tests that can modeled using California energy code’s “performance” approach\, commonly used in new constructions and additions. Before any energy consultant “checks the box and hopes for the best\,” they need to know about the resulting impacts on the builders and subcontractors in the field. Some HERS measures are easy to pass\, while some can be very difficult to pass if not well-planned and coordinated with the project team. \nAudience: \n\nEnergy consultants\nHERS raters\nBuilding department staff\nArchitects and designers\nContractors\, installers\, and builders\nHVAC specialists\nand other related fields\n\nRegister HERE

SUMMARY:Bridging the K–14 CTE Talent Pipeline - Presentation at ACTE Conference
DESCRIPTION:The K12 SWP initiative intentionally supports cross-system partnerships between K–12 and community colleges\, or intersegmental partnerships\, to develop an education and workforce development student pipeline through strengthened K–14 CTE course sequences\, programs and pathways. K12 SWP emphasizes vertical curricular alignment in K–14 CTE programs of study between LEAs and community colleges. Learn how the South Central Regional Coast is supporting CTE throughout their region through state funding\, outreach to LEAs via Labor Market Data\, facilitating dual enrollment and articulation\, targeting special populations\, and CTE mapping. \nACTE’s National Conference \nThursday\, Dec 02\, 2021\n2:00 PM – 2:45 PM (PST)\n*registration for the virtual session is $350
