Javascript Training

Description

This training course is for companies and faculty in the South Central Coast region. The course will cover fundamentals of Javascript for programmers. We'll assume you know the basics of loops, arrays, if-statements, functions, etc. in some other language. We'll cover basic JS syntax, JSON, dynamic types, JS "classes", and if time permits, closures.

Specs on needed machine/JS interpreter:
· Bring your own or we will have systems available
· Any recent model Mac, Linux or Windows machine, with the Chrome browser and with jsdb installed. See www.jsdb.org.

Dr. Staley has 30 years of combined academic and industrial experience in software development. He has served on the CSC faculty at Cal Poly, SLO, since 1988, and been a cofounder of several small software startups. His current research interests are educational software and effective online teaching.

Nicholas Flanders is a Computer Science senior with considerable professional experience in JS coding and in tutoring for Computer Science courses.
