Fast Track CNC Training Program Orientation & Testing
PROGRAM SUMMARY This program is for candidates seeking entry-level positions in CNC manufacturing operations and a long-term career path in manufacturing.
CNC machinists use machine tools such as computer numerically controlled (CNC) lathes and mills to produce precision metal parts requiring the use of complex operations and great attention to detail. CNC machines, following a computer program, control the cutting tool speeds and feeds, as well as sequencing the tool changing process for specific operations. The CNC machinist controls their CNC machine in performing all necessary cuts to complete an operation or to create a complete part.
CNC machinists sometimes work with numerical control programmers to determine how the automated equipment will produce a part.
AUDIENCE: Candidates for entry-level positions in manufacturing.
COMMUNITY JOB SURVEY ESTIMATED HOURLY WAGES: Entry-level wage ($13-$15 p/h, 1-year wage ($14-$18 p/h), 3-year wage ($16-$20 p/h).
