California is experiencing a significant shortage of behavioral health professionals, and psychiatric technicians are among the most in-demand roles in the stateās mental health system. According to theĀ U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for psychiatric technicians and aides is projected to grow 16% from 2024-2034, much faster than the average for all occupations.
