The secret is the vineyard.
“Good wine is personal taste,” said Dave Corey, citing a handful of characteristics — texture, body, fruitiness — that comprise a good wine. “But to make good wine, the vineyard is the secret — it’s a critical element.”
Corey, a 20-year veteran of the winemaking industry, was hired in late April to oversee winery operations at Hancock College’s student-focused winery. In addition to coordinating student activities with viticulture and enology program faculty, he will be responsible for winemaking, vineyard practices and wine sales for college winery. Read more.
