Oxnard College, Ventura College set for bachelor’s degree programs

Oxnard College is joining its Ventura and Moorpark counterparts in the rush of California community colleges trying to add bachelor’s degree programs to their catalogues.

The community college received provisional approval on Oct. 13 from the California Community College Chancellor’s office to offer its first bachelor’s program ever in dental hygiene.

Moorpark College was the first of the county’s three community colleges to earn approval for a bachelor’s degree, announcing in January that it had full approval to launch a biomanufacturing bachelor’s program in Fall 2024. A second proposed bachelor’s program in applied cybersecurity stalled in the approval process over objections from California State University leaders.  Continued….
